SAF-Hire started off in La Chapelle D’Abondance with a shelf, and about 500 items of linen. Over the years we have grown out of our original building, moved to a new larger site and open a second depot in the Tarantaise Valley. We now have over 116,000 items in circulation with clients ranging from private individuals and 10 beds chalet to accommodation providers looking after over 800 beds.
All our linen is custom made to our own specifications with our producers following the latest environmental and social regulations. It is ethically manufactured from sustainable sources and produced in factories with a focus on a fair deal and safety for workers.
To comply with current ESG standard, our manufacturing partners operate inline with the ISO 14001:2015, HIGG FEM, ZDHC and Step by OEKOTEX certifications for the sustainable environment and BSCI, SMEETA. SLCP, WRAP, ISO 28000:2022 and BWB certifications to comply with the ethical, labour standards.

An Intelligent Laundry System is then used to treat the linen throughout it’s life. The wash cycle is adjusted according to the type of fabric or stain and uses biodegradable detergents and softener. The water used on the softener steps is then recovered and recycled for use on the first step of the washing cycle. Towels are dried in dryers with humidity sensors that recognise when the linen is dry which not only saves engery but also minimises wear and tear of the towels.
We use the latest RFID technology to ensure that we can provide a consistent, high-quality service with every article being individually electronically tagged. This not only enhances traceability and accuracy within the ordering process, it also allows us to track the age of the items, the number of times it has been washed, which clients it has been allocated to and when, and its current location.
